Rub On a little Magic!

I'm a Crop & Drop kind of girl... I create a page and then find photos to fit the pages. This cute 6x6 scrapbook page actually took 10 minutes to create! Be Merry Progressive Page

I love scrapbooking, but let's face it sometimes it is tough to fill the 12 x 12 page. It takes a while for that creative inspiration flowing. When you start smaller though, it's not so difficult. Here, I have started with a 6 x 6 page. Note on the left side of the photo below. There is a spot for a 3 1/2 x 5 photo with a Santa postage stamp embellishment, designer series paper, and ribbon. Punch a border and a mat for the stamped image and you're done.

Next, I mounted that 6 x 6 page onto an 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of card stock. I added more spots for photos and elements like more coordinating designer paper, a matching stamp set, a little more ribbon, elastic cord, and a mini library clip. The trick here is to tie every thing together and with Stampin' Up! it's super easy because of all the coordinating products.

For the final piece of the puzzle, mount your finished 8 1/2 x 11 page to a coordinating 12 x 12 piece of card stock. For this particular layout, I really only had space for a title - the Big Shot made that easy to complete! I ended up with a beautiful page ready to crop and drop photos into.

Spooky 12 x 12 Scrapbook Layout

I love to make Halloween scrapbook pages! Check out this layout I did for Trish's workshop. I can't wait to add photos of my boys in their costumes this Saturday!

A close-up reveals the skull image from the stamp set, From the Crypt. I stamped it in Basic Black Craft ink and then used Iridescent Ice embossing powder. It is a little tough to see in the photo, but it's sparkly!

I did the same technique with the spider image - I have 3 of them "crawling" on the page! I cut the letters using the Big Shot and Stampin' Up!'s exclusive die called Alphabet Simple Letters.

Trick or Treat

Hope the projects posted this week inspire you for this spooky season! I love all the new Halloween sets and accessories from Stampin' Up! As I have said recently, I love the glitz and glitter of this holiday more than the spooky, scary aspect. With products from Stampin' Up!, you can customize your projects to your taste easily! This is a 6x6 scrapbook page we made at my Holiday Mini open house. We used some of the new Night & Day Specialty paper (116768) from the mini and the Spooky Treats rub-ons (115729)from the Idea Book & Catalog 2009-2010! I love the Spooky Treats rub-ons because you get multiples of the same image so you can create many invitations and take home treat 3D projects with one package! What are Hostess Clubs all about?

Every month, my hostess clubs get together to create 3 projects. One is usually a card, the second is a scrapbook page, and the third is a 3d item. Most of the projects feature a technique that can keep you stamping and actually using the products you purchase from me! My customers love that! I have several different types of clubs and would love to cater a specific club for you and your friends.

To start your club, you need a few friends! Once we have the number of members, we'll determine the minimum purchase requirement. Usually a club of 6 members works best. The minimum required purchase each month is $25. Each member has a turn at being hostess and is guaranteed at least 1 level 1 hostess set and $15 in free merchandise. Clubs meet at my home on a predetermined date to create the club projects.

You've already seen the 3d item the ladies made in January (click here to view). This is the scrapbook page we made. I usually stick to 6x6 because you can add that to any larger size scrapbook page you like to make, this is called Progressive Scrapbooking (taking a 6x6, adding that to an 8 1/2 x 11 with more photos and/or embellishments, then you could add that to a 12x12 with even more photos and/or embellishments). Some of my ladies don't scrapbook ***gasp*** - but that's ok, because they can use the supplies for the 6x6 to create a 3x6 card if they wish.

 

This page was made using some of the new products from the Spring/Summer Idea Book & Catalog. The colors are so bright and vibrant - wouldn't a black & white photo look great on this page? Check back early next week for the card club members made in January.

Scrapbook your Ghosts & Goblins

Here is an easy layout for your Halloween or fall photos. This was one of the projects from Hostess Club this month. The ladies brushed up on their coloring skills using the Aqua Painter and VersaMarker.

The "h" is a Sticky Cut letter and was covered by the Orange Bead Duos. First, peal the white backing off. Stick it down to your project. Peal the red line covering from the adhesive. Carefully pour the larger beads over the h. Remove excess (it's best to use a Powder Pal). Press those beads into the adhesive making sure they are stable. Next, very carefully pour the micro beads over the h to fill in any gaps - these little beads will go everywhere, so pour slowly, again a Powder Pal works great! Remove excess and voila!

 

The rest of the word, halloween, was stamped with VersaMark using the Jumbo Outline Alphabet stamp set then colored in with the VersaMarker. This technique makes this set much more versatile.

 

Stamp the pumpkin and leaf images from the Autumn Harvest stamp set with Brown Staz On. We watercolored using the ink from the Classic ink pads and Aqua Painter. The large tip Aqua Painter is on special this month. Click on the birthday promotion for more details.

Big Shot Weekend

Club members and stamp campers were over this weekend! We got a jump on some of our Fall and Halloween projects... the Big Shot was the hit of the party! We made a 6x6 scrapbook page with the Sizzix Leaves #2 and Naturally Serif dies currently offered by Stampin' Up! The next Big Shot project was a Scallop Envelope Box appropriately decorated for Halloween. Is it stinkin' cute or what? A very creative and talented demonstrator, Jane Matsumoto shared this idea. Each side of the box uses the exclusive Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (Holiday Mini). Make sure to use Sticky Strip on the tabs so your treats will stay in the box. Cover the sides with a strip of coordinating designer series paper, add some embellishments, and VOILA! Our last project used the Top Note Bigz Die in a different way. Just fold the Top Note and trim the points on the side. Add some silver Vintage Brads (or totally bling it up with Rhinestone brads) and ribbon for a cute purse that doubles as gift card holder! Stamp a greeting inside and this card is ready for any occasion!

Great Meeting!

I just love the creativity of the ladies on my team. Our group meeting was the other night and we had so much fun! We shared so much with each other including great project ideas.
